As @darc_awards visitors moved through the space, coloured light and mirrored surfaces responded to their interaction, transforming the environment into a constantly shifting kinetic experience. Through reflection, engagement, and play, the work invites audiences to become active participants in the installation.
For DRK Lighting, Solaris represented an opportunity to showcase our culture and values, celebrate our remanufacturing capabilities, and demonstrate the irresistible potential of sustainable lighting practices available in the UK.

Wrapping up an incredible few days at @darc_sessions in Sicily, with the backdrop of Mount Etna 🌋
For those who don’t know, [d]arc sessions brings together leading voices in lighting, for inspiring conversations, collaboration and innovation across the industry.

At BP’s International Centre for Business and Technology in Sunbury, the challenge was to upgrade their lighting sustainably, efficiently, and at scale.
This DRK project became one of the UK’s largest lighting remanufacture projects, upgrading over 8,500 luminaires on-site and the largest single-site deployment of Bluetooth smart lighting controls in Europe.

Last night’s @darc_awards!
This was our first time entry; unfortunately, there was no win for our art installation, but plenty of interest, great conversations, and strong feedback on what we’d created.
The recycling and remanufacturing incorporated by our technical team was of particular significance to the lighting consultants who may now have DRK in mind for future sustainable lighting projects.
A fun collaboration with @dpalighting - their wonderful Solaris concept, brought to life by us, now has pride of place in our Shoreditch Showroom (as seen in the last photo).

DRK had a box full of footballing icons on the weekend when we beat a battling Northampton Town FC.
The Dons Crazy Gang legend Vinnie Jones and Chelsea legend Alan Hudson (a regular in our box) joined our MD, Darren, at @afc_wimbledon for the game. Darren and Vinnie had plenty to catch up on from the old days when they used to go out together around Shepherd’s Bush.
DRK has had the iconic Vinnie at Wembley photo lightbox on our walls since we took on our private box at Plough Lane almost four years ago.
Vinnie gave his FA Cup winners’ medal from 1988 to another Dons legend, Ivor Heller (their lifetime Vice President), who has exhibited it in the Dons Museum at Plough Lane.

For the 2025 festive season, Harrods’ facade was transformed by Brunello Cucinelli’s immersive Christmas takeover. Feelosophy celebrated expert craftsmanship, storytelling, and understated luxury.
DRK Lighting was proud to deliver the lighting across 22 of the Christmas windows, working with the wider creative and production teams to bring this vision to life.
We’re pleased to have contributed to such an iconic seasonal moment and to see the windows come alive for millions of visitors throughout the Christmas period.

Friday night, we kicked off the celebrations in our showroom, headed to @kricketlondon for a feast, and then danced the night away at @oldstrecords. Great food, great music and even better company!

At DRK, we are closely partnered with the @souththamescollege Group (STCG) to provide work experience for their students’ final year Electrician course.
Over the past few years, the collaboration has continued to grow, and we have provided work experience and guidance to several dozen students.
Some of the students have gone on to be permanently employed by DRK Lighting, and we have used our connections to place others at premier M&E companies in and around London. We regularly check in on them, and they seem to be thriving in the career they have chosen.
Here we have a few of South Thames College Merton students, Jonathan, Rhyse, Michael, and Shay, showing off their RGB LED tape, which they fitted into a bespoke extrusion they created from start to finish. As with all the exceptional young talent we are supporting at South Thames College, Merton, this crop of students were a pleasure to work with.

With half the team off chasing the sunshine, we thought we’d throw a little something for those holding down the fort! ☀️
Last Friday afternoon, we turned up the heat in true DRK style- with chilli sauce making, cocktails, and good company. While some of the team were out soaking up rays, we made sure the rest didn’t miss out on the summer vibe.
Hot Sauce - DR.K’s Mouth on Fire:
Yes, you read that right. We made our very own hot sauce, from scratch and bottled it with care (and gloves). Not for the faint of heart, DR.K’s Mouth on Fire is a crowd-pleaser and a sinus-clearer. We’re sorry to disappoint; it’s not available for sale, but if you’re in the office, you’ll likely spot a rogue bottle floating around the kitchen.
DRK’s Rum Tin:
To balance out the burn, we brought out our beloved horsebox cocktail bar, also known as the Rum Tin, offering a couple of rum cocktails: Cuba Libres and Mojitos. It may have been sipping cocktails in a car park, but hey, it felt luxurious.
Team Wellbeing at DRK Lighting:
Since our inception, we’ve made a purposeful effort to invest in our team and ensure they feel appreciated. AFC Wimbledon won promotion to League One, on Monday, where we shall be playing against the likes of Cardiff, Luton, Plymouth, Huddersfield and Bolton next year.
It was an amazing day at Wembley for the Wombles, beating Walsall FC 1-0 with a fantastic Myles Hippolyte strike.
